Hi All!
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I thought I would try out a chocolate recipe. My Tia Lecoadia lives in Portugal, but had sent me a photo of a recipe that she had collected for “brigadeiros,” which is a Brazilian dessert. It’s very similar to a truffle, but softer and very easy to make. These turned out so pretty to look at and yummy to taste!
Yields: 30-40
Ingredients:
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
chocolate sprinkles
Directions:
1) In a small sauce pot, add sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until chocolate thickens, and it should be set once a spoon is ran across the bottom of the pot, and the pot is visible; it should not be runny.
2) Remove from heat and allow the chocolate to cool. Once cooled, rub a little bit of butter onto your fingers, and begin rolling the chocolate into balls, about the size of a teaspoon. Coat balls with chocolate sprinkles and place on parchment paper or in small foil cups.
